From the Artist:
Taggart Lake in Grand Teton National Park figures prominently in my family’s history.
I painted my Wilcox Gallery’s 40th anniversary painting, “Timeless Beauty,” from this location.
As a family, we often hiked into the lake and watched our children splash in the shallows.
Or in the winter, we cross-country skied or snowshoed in.
In fact, cross-country skiing to Taggart Lake was one of my first dates with my wife.
And one of my sons even used “Taggart” as his son’s middle name.
All of that comes with plenty of reason.
Taggart Lake is simply one of the most beautiful, pristine places you’re ever likely to find.
At the base of Avalanche Canyon, you have a stunning view up to Shoshoko Falls that flows out of another backcountry lake.
And the Tetons rising above you are imposing in the most natural, beautiful way.
And if you catch it at the right time in the early summer, the blues and greens of spring contrast the receding winter blanket so well.
