Nature’s power is evident in the pounding roar of Lower Falls in Yellowstone. The intriguing part is that nature has managed to couple raw power with divine grace, creating thunder that is a visual delight.

Many people viewing this painting love to point out that I captured the “green streak” they noticed for themselves at the falls. They’re referring to a band of smooth water that falls surprisingly far without breaking apart into a frothy white.

In this particular painting, I caught the falls at a certain time of year and time of day that made for a fantastic composition. The light sweeping along the cliff face to the right naturally puts your eye motion into an endless loop.

In other words, it’s hard to stop looking at this painting.
